I have spent most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, and received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. As a daughter of a psychotherapist, I’ve always had a passion for working with children and families, and knew at an early age that I wanted to work in the helping profession.
Some of my clients have expressed that my sense of humor, genuineness, and professionalism have helped them overcome their resistance to treatment and helped them develop strategies to better their lives. My style is a pragmatic approach to change. I believe in developing reachable goals, using concrete interventions, and collaborating with my patients to improve their work and family life.
I specialize in the treatment of Mood Disorders (Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar), Autism Spectrum Disorders (PDD-NOS, Aspergers, High Functioning Autism), and behavioral issues with children and adolescents. I am trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and pull from these treatment modalities when I work with my patients. I am also a registered Art Therapist, and use art whenever appropriate. I work with children, teens, young adults, families and parents to increase their sense of well-being, overcome relationship difficulties, as well as gain a sense of awareness and confidence.
